 Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub - American comedian, actress and activist Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents Her career began as a child performer shortly after immigrating to the United States. She came to prominence for her appearances in AT&T commercials on television as salesperson Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016, and then from 2020. She was also a regular series regular on Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015) and played a part in a recurring role on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016-2017). Vayntrub has also been voiced as Squirrel Girl on the Marvel Rising franchise since 2018 after she was cast as the character in the unaired television pilot of New Warriors. Vayntrub was Jewish and was born in Tashkent in the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. At the age of two, she immigrated together with her parents to the U.S. to escape antisemitism. She was able to settle in West Hollywood. At the age of five she began to appear in Mattel Barbie commercials. This was partly due to the economic hardships in her family. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School. She quit her sophomore year, and subsequently obtained the GED. Following that she went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from the University of California San Diego. She learned improv comedy from the Upright Citizens Brigade.Milana
